Indy was rescued off the streets of New Orleans by two friends of ours on the eve of Thanksgiving, 2009. We have since cleaned, fed, cared and provided for him unconditionally - even when we found out he was sick.
When we brought our other dog (Bosceaux) in for his regular checkup, we brought Indy for his first visit with our vet. Indy was diagnosed with a severe case of heartworms.
After an expensive heartworm treatment and a weekend in the ICU involving an oxygen cage and a blood transfusion, Indy is happy, healthy, and heartworm free. We decided that we'd design buttons just for Indy, and all proceeds would go directly to paying for all those medical bills. In the same spirit of goodwill and second (or third) chances, we'll donate the proceeds to another animal in need when we've "saved Indy".
